How to Help

The Wendell and Inez Robie Foundation relies on the assistance of volunteers to achieve its mission. Here are some areas for which we can never have too much help:

Merchandise

Donations

Your donations, regardless of size, are the backbone of our efforts to protect, maintain and improve our Sierra trails and staging areas. We pledge that 100% of your donation will be used to Make Projects Happen! The Sterling Pointe Staging Area, Robie Equestrian Park, Wendell T Robie Trail and the Pioneer Express Trail are great examples of how your donations are applied to successful projects. We pride ourselves that all of our foundation administrative costs are covered by an investment account dedicated to that purpose. You can also specify any portion of your donation to go to a specific project if you wish. Thank You for your support!

Bequests

Bequests provide an excellent form of long term financial planning and allow you to pass to future generations the special resource of recreation trails, staging areas and the natural beauty of our foothills and Sierra Nevada Mountains. Our foundation would not be possible without the kind, generous gifts of those who came before us. Please help us make a difference as we continue the effort to pass along the enchanting outdoor experience we currently enjoy.

Cooperative Agreements

If you have a project in mindthat meets with our goals and area, we may be able to join in a cooperative agreement and Make It Happen! The Wendell & Inez Robie Foundation has entered into and completed several Cooperative or Cost-Shared agreements with the U S Forest Service, Calif. Dept. of Parks and other non-profit foundations to complete projects. Past projects include the Dru Barner Park, the Otter Creek Trail, the Bald Mountain Trail and the Pioneer Express Trail.

Grant Writing

If you have a project and would like to apply for a grant, we may be able to partner with you in pursing an application. During 2003 we pledged $2,500 in support of the Cool/Pilot Hill Implementation Project which is to repair the trail and wet areas at the Cool Staging Area. Anything is possible if we work together.

Project Develpoment

We are living in a world of environmental concerns. The process of submitting a proposal for a project has gotten long, complex and detailed. We have submitted several project requests and are often amazed at the time taken to approve even simple trail maintenance requests. If you have experience or want to help with project development, let’s work together.

General Volunteer Work

We salute all you extraordinary people who volunteer your valuable time in protecting, maintaining and constructing our great outdoor trails. For over twenty years our organization has relied on the thousands of hours volunteered by our board members, our neighbors, friends, family, individuals, organizations and all who volunteer. We schedule work parties on a regular basis and would be proud to include you on our notification list. Check our list of projects for something near you or dear to your heart.
